I Remember

As a youngtall-flagster I often heard adults recall the day that President Kennedy was assassinated. Their voices were quiet and sober. They all said the same thing: “I know right where I was when I found out JFK had been shot. And I will never forget how sobering it was for our country.” Many told of seeing the very first Presidential funeral ever shown on national TV. They said it was as if the lives of all Americans stopped to watch that funeral.

Now I know why they can’t forget that event, because I will never forget where I was and what I was doing on 9/11/2001. And neither will any other American of my generation.

This weekend I have watched several videos and read first-hand testimonies of people involved with that day. I have cried and sighed as the reality of that day has washed over my soul again.

A lot of people prayed, and many urged others to pray as the events of that day unfolded. But tell me, are you still praying for America? Do you remember that our only true hope for America today is found in God?

I believe that we are on the verge of losing the great America that our generation once knew. And no politician is going to be able to restore it without God. GOD. That’s what we need the most in America! We need to bow our hearts low before Him, confess our sins, and ask Him to restore our broken land! THEN He will hear from Heaven and He will heal our land! Meanwhile, I continue to celebrate the brave men and women both on the ground and in the air who gave their lives for people they didn’t know on 9/11/2001.
