Maybe we have to have surgery, or we need chemo. Or even worse, maybe we will watch a loved one suffer. We may dread it because we have heard scary stories from others who have been through hard times. How will we make it through the shadow of pain or heartbreaking loss?

The answer is to concentrate on The Light. Jesus said: “I am the Light of the world.” He also said: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you…” His peace is unlike any other. In the midst of the pain and anguish we will know His Perfect Peaceful Presence and that Presence will guide us through the darkest hour! You see—the Presence of Jesus is in us when we have Him living in our heart.

When we trust Him He guides, He holds, He helps, and He sheds light on the path ahead. We can go forward with confidence in Him, because He has said: “I am with you always, even unto the end of the earth.”

So go ahead–take the next step and God will light your way! Be sure to thank Him that you can trust, believe, and lean on Him while He carries you through the darkness. Because He promised: “I will never leave you, nor forsake you!”
